Changing the culture is a process of conversion that begins in our own hearts, and includes a willingness to be instructed and a desire to be close to Jesus — the source of joy and love.

“The thing that the Church needs most is the ability to heal wounds and to warm the hearts of the faithful. It needs nearness and proximity.”
Pope Francis
When we encounter Christ, experience his love and deepen our relationship with him, we become more aware of our own worth and that of others. His love for each person is cause for great joy, and growing understanding of this priceless treasure motivates us to share his love with others. Our lives are often changed by the witness of others; so too, others’ lives may be changed by our witness and authentic friendship with them.
No matter what issues we face, the Church recognises the state of our culture, and the difficulty of applying ethical principles to certain cases. We invite people to see the Church’s wisdom in these teachings, which are also written in their hearts and seen in their lived experience. Whatever you may be facing, remember that you are not alone.
Walking with Love is an initiative that looks at unexpected pregnancy from a person-centred perspective. It is sensitively designed to raise awareness and increase understanding of the issues many women face when confronted by unexpected pregnancy. A woman’s decision to continue with her pregnancy, or not, is heavily influenced by how well supported she feels she is.
Walking with Love aims to encourage the community and all people of goodwill to strengthen their support for vulnerable pregnant women, and to reach out to those women, their husbands, partners, and families, who have been affected by an abortion experience. First and foremost: respond with love.
